Our Community
Oxfam Ireland
Oxfam is committed to ending poverty and suffering in developing countries. We promote understanding of the causes of these injustices, and campaign for a world where every man, woman, and child can live free from hunger, poverty, and oppression.
Volunteers are the heart and muscle of Oxfam Ireland. Without volunteers, we can do nothing. There are 700 volunteers working in Oxfam Ireland's shops. They enable us to get things done at a practical level. This makes a massive difference to the people that need our help. As a result of the work of volunteers, Oxfam can speak to governments, media, and other powerful interest groups. When we speak, the powers all pay attention because they know we have your caring support.
Irish people are exemplary in doing voluntary work. You are twice as likely to offer your help as people from most other European countries. Like to help Oxfam Ireland as a volunteer? just telephone 01 6727662 or 028 90 230220.
